Notes
Thank you for expressing an interest in Robert Burke Portrait Studio. A hand drawn portrait is a heart felt gift or a cherished family heirloom. Below are some thoughts that will ensure the quality of the finished product.
All portraits are created from photographs. The quality of the provided photograph dictates the quality of the finished portrait.
When you take the photo Please make sure that the subject’s face is well defined. You can achieve this by “zooming” in on the subject and “filling the frame.”
Do not take the photo while standing over the subject. Take a moment and consider the best photos are taken on the same level as the subject. If this requires you to get down on your knees this might be the price you pay to achieve a quality photo.
Consider the lighting available. A standard flash in a dark room leaves the face “flat and washed out.” Too much sun and you can get some interesting shadows that will become the focal point rather than the subject.
